Come to the February 14th JVP BA Community Meeting in San Francisco, where many have left their hearts. We'll "celebrate" Valentine's Day unconventionally, of course, by bringing our activist energy together!
You may have heard snippets about the successful divestment campaign by UAW 2865 - the union that represents graduate teaching assistants -- on the UC campuses. David McCleary will be filling in the blanks for us and bringing us up to the present unfortunate moment where UAW voided the vote.
Last month we had energizing small group conversations leading to the development of a collective vision for a just peace in Israel and Palestine and the role that JVP can play in promoting this vision. During the February meeting we will again break into small groups to identify our strategic priorities and to align our priorities with JVP national's 3-5 year goals.
Candidates for the 2 open Coordinating Committee positions will introduce themselves and share with us what they hope to help the chapter accomplish by serving on the CC. So all of you still on the fence, remember to prepare your presentation!!
