yJVP - Young JVP

"Young Jewish and Proud" (yJVP) Declaration from 2011

Young JVP (formerly Young, Jewish and Proud) is a growing community of young people in the Bay Area eager to explore the connections and tensions between Jewish identity and Palestine solidarity. They are a group of JVPers in their 20s and 30s who want to work on youth specific campaigns such as Birthright, challenging Jewish institutions, Education, coalition building and more etc. This group also organizes cultural events and social gatherings such as shabbat dinners and parties. This is a fun and unique organizing space for young Jews and allies. They also support and work on JVPBA chapter campaigns and projects.  The Bay Area yJVP has its kickoff show and party May 2nd in downtown Oakland.

yJVP was launched nationally as Young, Jewish, and Proud in 2010 when young JVP activists disrupted Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at a Jewish Federations General Assembly.  The group is  committed to working inside and outside of the Jewish community to support Palestinians.
